BLOGtober day 15 // DIY FALL SCENT

img_3117

I have been so inspired this season to make my home feel and smell like Fall as much as possible. If you saw yesterday’s post, Best Fall DIY’s on Pinterest, you know that’s all that has been on my mind this week. Going along with my tradition I got around to making my first DIY on my list this season, and can I just say YUM.

I didn’t have all of the ingredients from Kelly’s recipe that you can get, here, so I put my own spin on the brew that makes your home smell like sweet, warm, citrusy love.

I used orange peel, lemon peel, and ground cinnamon.

I start by filling a pot with water about half way. Then peel the skin off of the lemon (I also squeezed some of the lemon’s juice into the water because there wasn’t much peel).

Then, I peeled the orange and dropped that into the pot.

Then, since I didn’t have cinnamon sticks, I poured a generous amount of ground cinnamon in.

Bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer – medium heat works perfect for this.
